Got Stripes?

I do. There are a million ways to fake the shape, size, form and flaws in a room. One of the best visual distractions is using stripes. Striped walls are by no means a new trend.  Striped wallpapers have been around for over a century.  However, updated stripe styles are making a resurgance in today’s modern interiors and not just on the walls. Here are some ideas in black and white with out looking like a prison uniform.............................

King Midas is popularly remembered in Greek mythology for his ability to turn everything he touched into gold. And these days it seems that gold accents are all the rage. I usually like to mix metals, but lately I am loving all the gold hardware and accents. Bold choices for any room...............................................

The ICFF--International Contemporary Furniture Fair

I went to the ICFF show today at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. I usually don't have the attention span for these shows but it happened to be just the right size today. I saw so many amazing things and got so many great ideas! I will post my pictures from the show tomorrow. However, I did want to share some of the highlights right now...................................

These bedrooms are really easy to achieve.  Add some custom or personalized shams to your hotel bedding, made out of fabrics that reflect your personality, and you will have a very finished and polished look.

talk about color blocking

so aside from wanting to vacation here i think that this picture lends the perfect inspiration to color blocking. its such a huge trend this year in fashion and its spilling over into interiors. of course you dont have to be so bold and be trendy in the major rooms in your home but if you wanted to freshen it up a bit color blocked pillows or art could be a great addition to any room.
